Whimsical framed black and white drawing by Lenard Kester, tilted "Dancing Clowns". Autographed and signed by artist on May 16, 1955: "For little Peter Heumann, on his birthday best wishes for all the good things of life."
Kester is an American artist born in 1917 in New York City. While vacationing in Los Angeles in 1939, he decided to settle there and took a job with Walt Disney. He is known for First Aiders (1944), Snafuperman (1944) and Springtime for Pluto (1944). At the end of 1940s he quit Disney to devote full time to painting. His work is represented in many private collections throughout the United State. He has held twenty-six one-man exhibitions in museums and art galleries throughout the U.S.A., including the Oakland Museum, Boston Museum of Modern Art, Los Angeles Museum, M. H. De Young Museum in San Francisco, Knoedler Galleries in New York, to mention a few and has participated in all major national exhibitions, receiving over forty awards for his work.
